LMRP Neighbourhood Food Network

Little Mountain Riley Park
Neighbourhood Food Network (NFN)

We are a grassroots network of people, organizations and agencies collaborating on food initiatives. Our work is to ensure access to healthy, culturally appropriate and sustainably produced food for all community members. We work in three areas:

Riley Park Community Garden
(30th/Ontario)

A project of the Neighbourhood House, the garden is a community space that builds social cohesion through participation, education and events. We promote food security by supporting neighbourhood organizations and community members with the food grown in our garden. Join us for picnics, meals and potlucks as we celebrate our fall harvest.

• Nourish Our Neighbourhood:
During the month of October. Our annual city-wide fundraiser to support our Community Garden. Businesses do an in-store promotion and shoppers buy local.

Community Outreach & Engagement

Working together to build a resilient, healthy, food secure community. This Fall our activities include:

• Riley Park Farmers Market Donation Station: Sep 2, Oct 7. Donations from farmers and shoppers support food and cooking programs for our newcomers, immigrants and refugee claimants.

Neighbourly Together

A project in partnership with Mt Pleasant NH aimed to reduce social isolation for seniors. We are training volunteers to connect with seniors where they share information on resources and activities in the area.
